Craftsmanship since 1945
Castelijn & Beerens was founded in 1945 by two craftsmen, master stitcher Walter Castelijn and leather cutter Marinus Beerens.
In the early years, the leftovers of the manufacture of belts, handbags, diplomats’ folders and schoolbags were turned into watch straps and wallets. Particularly the latter product, the wallet, would later on become very important for the company.
The success of the legendary Porto Quick, which was invented in the sixties, caused Castelijn & Beerens to focus on small leather goods such as wallets, billfolds, key cases, diaries and portfolios. Increasingly exclusive Italian leathers were used from that time onwards to create more and more refined small leather goods.
The process of finding even better quality continues to this day. C&B has since developed into a major supplier of high-quality leather goods and is a household name when it comes to exclusive small leather goods, ladies bags and business bags.
